My name is Sugar, and like my name, I am sweet, but very shy, timid and scared in new situations. I had been with a family since I was a kitten and spent 12 years with them. In December 2017, I was surrendered to a shelter because, “I stayed under the bed." I do like to stay hidden at times until I feel safe and secure. I was adopted briefly, but the person had to move suddenly and was not able to take me, so their neighbors have been fostering me temporarily until a permanent home can be found. My foster family has been very kind to me and I have really opened up with them. I’m not quite ready to be petted or picked up and snuggled, but maybe one day soon. I will eat treats out of your hand though. I like my treats! I have also been caught on camera having fun playing with my catnip toys and peacock feather. A visiting vet came over and gave me a full exam with bloodwork, etc. and I’m a healthy 13 year old lady. My foster home friends are moving across the country and are not able to take me since they have other pets and obligations that would make it too difficult. I’m hoping to find a home with patient, compassionate, loving people that will let me live out my days in harmony and peace. I am very easy to take care of, am not a picky eater, have very good litter box habits and don’t cause any trouble.
